Hundreds, if not thousands, of neighbors, commuters and other passersby enjoy RING on a daily basis. As the largest and most diverse viewing garden in Inwood, RING serves to improve the quality of life in a challenging neighborhood.

Unlike most other community gardens, RING does not give out plots and expect individuals to maintain those plots. RING has always been a botanical garden, with everyone working together with a common vision of the whole garden. RING relies heavily on volunteers for carrying out the ongoing garden maintenance, garden sitting, events, publicity, artistic endeavors, and special projects that add up to create the garden. Click here to read about the many ways you can get involved in your neighborhood garden.

The garden serves as a peaceful meeting place for many residents in this diverse community. Children as well as adults of all ages benefit from repeated exposure to the dynamics of a changing garden environment in their own “backyard” as the seasons change. Click here to view beautiful photos of RING throughout the seasons.

The RING is centrally located at the Lt. William Tighe Triangle which stretches from Riverside Drive towards Broadway to Dyckman Street and Seaman Avenue. Easily accessible via the Dyckman stop on the #1 and A subway lines as well as the M100 and Bx7 bus lines.

Join us at an annual flea market, the Spring annuals planting, free community concerts or just pass by to smell the roses and enjoy this beautiful oasis from one of the benches inside or outside the garden.

Make our website one of your favorite places and visit soon to make the RING your favorite Inwood place!
